Team of matchday 1 – Euro 2012
The buzz of tournament football has evidently hit the continent, a controversial opener mixed with goalkeeping errors and horrific officiating really set the tone for the games to come. What less could we ask for though, goalkeeping errors, poor finishing and shocking referring. That sounds like a proper summer tournament to me, although some of the results so far haven’t lived up to everyone’s predictions. For example, I doubt many people had a punt on Denmark to beat Holland and I can’t think of many that expected Russia to come flying out the blocks as fast as they did. As the championships enter their second match day I thought I would picture you my ‘Team of the round. Just a brief post, sorry the vagueness. I’ll post more as the tournament goes on.
Agree with most, but I would have Agger in there somewhere. Also, I would have Shevchenko swapped with Kuba, and Dzagoev put on right wing.
